The second-hand marketplace Users Share Displeasure Regarding Size Modifications

Shoppers are voicing their frustration following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing.

The popular resale platform has altered its size classifications for women's and children's clothes without notifying every member regarding the update.

Digital Channels Reaction

Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display a different size category compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping.

Vinted explained the new system was more in line with similar services.

It has advised users to check their listings and manually change the size where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction.

Sizing System Updates

Earlier, the sizing featured one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10.

For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

Shopper Accounts

Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

Another user, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22.

"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said.

Required Changes

Another shopper, from Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".

"For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she stated.

Service Background

The app has more than 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.

It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.

This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
